With all the current confusion over FITs you may well be thinking now is not the time to install solar PV. In fact the opposite is true. Financially and environmentally now is the perfect time to install solar. One of our installations taking place today in Worthing West Sussex will benefit from the following:
1) Guaranteed feed in tariff of 21 pence per kWh if you choose to install before the 31st of March
This may even go up to 43.3 pence for installs before the 3rd of March following the government losing their appeal at the high court – which really would mean a breath taking return on investment.
2) From April, you may well need to meet very strict energy efficiency requirements
This is following the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) proposing that from April homes will have to meet energy efficiency measures to be elgible for FIT rates. This means you may have to spend more on your home before qualifying for the FIT rates for solar.
3) Reduction in the Price of Panels
During the past year the price of solar has dropped dramatically. This allows you to get a higher efficient system as lower initial cost, whilst still receiving a great return.
4) Energy Prices are Rising
Whilst dipping slightly in the past few weeks, energy prices on average go up 10% each year. Protect yourself from this by installing solar which can cut your bills by up to 50% per year un top of the FIT rate.
5) Going Green
