A number of customers who visit us at our showroom tend to confuse Solar Thermal and Solar PV. Solar Thermal works by passing a liquid through panels fitted to your roof, this liquid transfers the heat into your hot water system.

A solar thermal hot water system can provide an entire household or swimming pool, with hot water in the summer months and make a considerable contribution throughout the rest of the year.

At Kingsley Eco Solutions we aren't happy installing a product that we haven't thoroughly put through it's paces.   We have a handful of Solar thermal installations in Worthing that we have been trialling to see what produces the best results.  Currently running through the rigorous testing procedure is a 30 Tube solar collector which in the sunnier months is producing enough hot water to fill a 500litre hot water tank everyday (that's over twice as large as most family homes), click the link below to check out the live temperature of the system:

Interest in Solar Thermal has been quite slow due to the generous grants available on solar PV.  This looks set to change with the renewable heat incentive, an initiative that is due to come into force in June 2011, it is similar to the electrical feed in tariff and basically pays you for every unit of heat that your solar panel has produced.  The figures have not been confirmed yet but we will soon know what the government is prepared to pay out to make for a greener future!  Track the latest news on the renewable heat incentive using the following link:
